Annual Campaign begins to “Check Out Hunger” in the Southern Tier

Local News

Grocery shoppers can help end hunger in the Southern Tier. The Food Bank of the Southern Tier started its Check Out Hunger campaign.

The annual campaign raises awareness on hunger. It also helps raise food for those who may not have the resources to obtain adequate food.

Shoppers can help by shopping at Wegmans, Jubilee, or Sav-a-Lot. Shoppers will see slips of paper with different amounts on each. Each slip has a certain value: $2, $3 and $5. Pick the amount you would like to donate and your donation is made at the check out.

The campaign raised over $3.9 million since 2006. The campaign ends February 16.
