(UPDATE 12:23 p.m.): “Things Remembered” at the Arnot Mall will be closing, and has posted closing signs outside the store.
The gift retailer “Things Remembered” could be just a memory after a report from Reuters details potential bankruptcy filings for the company.
According to the Reuters report, the chain “is preparing to file for bankruptcy protection in the coming days and shutter most of its roughly 400 stores.”
Management at the retailer’s Arnot Mall location in Horseheads did not comment on the future of the location.
The chain is owned by private equity firm KKR and Co. Inc. but is based out of Highland Heights, Ohio.
The brick and mortar store that specializes in personalized gifts expanded their operations to Amazon in September, allowing customers to “engrave and embroider items in a matter of clicks.”
