Arnot Health invites individuals interested in Bariatric Surgery to attend a free seminar on Thursday, August 27, 2015 from 6–7 p.m. at Arnot Medical Services, 45 Mud Creek Road in Troy, PA.
Subramanian Sadhasivam, MD, general and bariatric surgeon with Arnot Health, will present information about the procedures available, which are performed on the stomach and/or intestines to help a person lose weight, thereby reducing the person’s risk of other health issues. Attendees will also learn about eligibility for bariatric surgery, how to prepare, and how to pay for these life-changing procedures.
Unlike many weight loss programs or diets, most patients who undergo bariatric surgery lose 40 to 70 percent of their excess weight and keep it off long-term if they commit to lifelong behavioral changes in areas including nutrition, exercise, and stress management that are essential to a healthy lifestyle.
