Bath man arrested for possession of crack cocaine

A Bath man has been arrested in the village after an incident that took place in the Town of Erwin. 

Mario Hentz, 39, of Bath was arrested after State Police were called to home in the Town of Erwin for a report of a man with a handgun menacing a female. Hentz was later located in the Village of Bath and taken into custody without incident.

State Troopers from the Bath barracks responded to the Bath police station to take custody of Hentz and conducted a search of his person, resulting in the discovery of one clear plastic bag containing approximately two grams of crack cocaine, hidden in his sock. 

Hentz was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 5th degree, a class “D” felony, and Menacing 2nd Degree, a class “A” misdemeanor. 

He was arraigned in Town of Campbell court and remanded to the Steuben County Jail without bail. He is scheduled to appear in the Bath Village Court on June 6.
