Do you like beer, chili, wine or chocolate and need plans for Friday night?
Pathways Incorporated and a ton of local vendors are inviting you to go out and give back to the community you call home on Friday, March 4 7-10 p.m. at the Corning Harley-Davidson located on 300 Town Center Road, in Painted Post.
Colleen Coro, Director At Pathways Child Center said she expects the crowd and the amount raised to be even bigger this year, with the addition of new local vendors and growing interest.
“It’s a great night out for over 400 people typically we get here and a good opportunity for local vendors to kind of flaunt their stuff.”
The event featuring raffle auctions, live music and tastings serves as a fundraiser for the Erwin Child & Family Center.
Last year over $40 thousand dollars was raised to rebuild a state-of-the-art new playground and money raised this year will be dedicated to build another new outdoor space for the kids.
While you’re giving back.. You can enjoy a variety of southern tier tastes from locally owned businesses.
“Almost 40 vendors here so everything from obviously your chili wine and chocolate we also have two distilleries and in olive oil tasting as well,” said Coro.
One of the event’s returning participants is The Source, which will be featuring their signature homemade chocolates and homemade chili.
Co-Owner, Cynthia Dickerman said
“Any time that we can support the community and support the children that’s our future of the whole community,” said Dickerman. “It’s just a great way to give back to the community and help out with another community business that’s right here and secondly it’s fun.”
And whether your little ones are all grown up, you’re considering starting a family, or you don’t have kids, event organizers said, one thing’s for certain.
“Even though you may not use a childcare center for our childcare center investing in children is an investment in the community,” said Coro.
Tickets are just $30 in advance and $40 at the door.
