One local school is taking part in a national week of kindness. Broadway Academy is taken part in the Great Kindness Challenge.
“The challenge is a positive, proactive bullying prevention initiative, reaching millions of students during the last full week of January every year,” school officials said.
The school is doing daily announcements, a school-wide kindness poster, a spirit week integrating the kindness theme, a kindness chain, kindness deeds and encouraging each student to make a commitment to being kind.
“Staff will be encouraging students to show thoughtfulness and respect for peers, adults and the school”, said Kimberly Webster, school counselor at Broadway Academy.
