A car crashed into an Elmira home Sunday and struck its gas meter, which prompted authorities to evacuate the occupants.
The crash into the home on West Water Street, near Columbia Street, was reported at about 8 a.m., according to fire officials.
The vehicle struck an outdoor gas meter, an Elmira Fire Department dispatcher said.
No one was injured, authorities said.
