Chemung County Age-Friendly Designation Awards were presented today to 12 businesses in the area.
The Chemung County Department of Aging and Long Term Care’s Annual Public Hearing and Falls Prevention Awareness Event was held this morning at the Big Flats Community Center.
The Chemung County Age-Friendly Business and Organization Designation initiative promotes local businesses and not-for-profit organizations who strive to provide age-friendly care and experiences.
“Our mission at Woodbrook is to provide a safe, beautiful, and loving home one of which our residents are celebrated and encouraged to live in a healthy environment with dignity, respect, and joy,” Lauries Sweeney of Woodbrook Assisted Living Residence said. “That is what this award is all about. To be age-friendly, but to also promote our seniors.”
Four local businesses and eight organizations were given the award.
