ELMIRA, NY (WETM-18) — Chemung County Public Defender has law license suspended.
Scott Fierro failed to re-register with the state, a requirement every two years.
According to County Executive Tom Santulli, this appears to be a mistake and an overlook by Fierro, but he will have to serve the 30 day suspension and get his license renewed.
Santulli did not say when the exact date of Fierro’s suspension would start.
Until he’s clear, Fierro cannot be in a courtroom, practice law, or give any legal advice.
Santulli appointed Attorney John Schwenkler as acting head of the Public Defender Office.
