The holidays are officially over, so it’s time to say goodbye to those Christmas trees.
Both the City of Elmira and the City of Corning are offering a free pick-up service beginning on Wednesday, Jan. 2.
Trees must be by the roadside (not in the road) by Jan. 31.The city asks residents to remove all decorations, including ornaments, tinsel, lights, etc. as well as any snow that might prevent the tree from being visible.
Trees must be placed between the street curb and the sidewalk by Friday, Jan. 18 to be picked up.
The city also asks residents to remove all decorations.
