Clemens Center hoping to win $100,000 grant

Local News

The Clemens Center has the opportunity to win a grant for up to $100,000 for renovations.

The Clemens Center is vying for that money with the intentions of completing what they call a number of necessary improvement projects.

The first objective is renovating the entrance to the center off of Carl Proper Drive. The money would also be used to create a rooftop garden overlooking the improved space. The executive director of the Clemens Center says the project fits perfectly into the new vision for downtown.

“That’s really what the community thrives Grant is all about,” said Karen Cromer. “Places where the community can gather and enjoy socializing and that’s what we’re hoping to always be is the center of downtown a gathering space for everybody who feels welcome.”

The terms of the grant require organizations vying for it raise at least $6,000 on their own to show community commitment.
