A young Elmira actor is becoming a famous face on the big screen.
Johnson plays Caroline Barnum, Jackman’s daughter in the movie.
“He is the nicest guy you will ever meet, he could have chosen to go back to his trailer and hang out, you know, be with his adult friends,” said Johnson. “He stayed on set with me and my movie sister and we played games, we did everything, we had so much fun.”
Even working with famous stars, back home in Elmira, Johnson is still a kid who plays with her younger brother Abe.
She’s been a dancer all her life but her mother got her into acting two years ago.
“My mom just said, you need to build your confidence up and stuff so she said lets incorporate dancing with something else.”
Johnson already has quite the impressive resume. She’s won national dance titles, gave a TED Talk at just 8-years-old and performed on Broadway.
In 2016, Johnson and her mother moved to Manhattan so she can star on Broadway’s Matilda and went on a national tour.
Most recently, she performed in the Nutcracker at the Clemens Center.
Johnson has more projects on the horizon and tells 18 News she will most definitely pursue acting when she grows up.
The Greatest Showman hits theaters on December 20.
