Hundreds of Elmira Enforcers fans showed up at First Arena on Friday night dressed in their red, white and blue, in honor of Pete Frank also known as “Flagman”.

Frank passed away from an unknown illness last Sunday. He became a local celebrity in Elmira for his easily recognizable ensemble, which he sported to every game.

Flagman was a supporter of the Jackals since they began in 2000. His wife and daughter did the ceremonial puck drop at Fridays game. The family sincerely appreciates the publics support.

“That has bought me a lot of comfort knowing, there’s so many people backing us and so many people supporting us. I always have somebody to talk to because I feel like everyone is hurting and mourning the loss of my Dad,” said Alaura Hannan.

Services for Frank will take place Saturday at the Walter J. Kent Funeral Home. Calling hours are 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., with the funeral service set to begin at 5.
