Elmira Enforcers warn fans of a new scam using their name

Local News

There is a scam going on using the Elmira Enforcer’s hockey team name and the scammers are hoping to score on you with your credit card.

The Elmira Enforcer’s issued the warning on its Facebook page on Sunday. The team is advising fans not to click on links circulating on YouTube. It said the links claim to broadcast Enforcer’s games for free, but then asks for credit card information.

The Enforcers said the only services approved to stream its games are its own website and TFM Sports.

TFM Sports said in a statement it traced multiple YouTube channels promoting the same link and are now down.

TFMports also said, “the websites are based in Indonesia and/or India. They have also been cloning the sites to appear to be affiliated with ESPN and also fox sports and discovery channel when they are absolutely not.”

It said the websites will be reported to the ICANN and Cloudflare.
