Elmira Police Continue To Investigate Southside Shooting

Tonight the Elmira Police Department continue to investigate a shooting that happened on Elmira’s Southside.

Around 9:30 p.m. Thursday night, Elmira Police responded to the area of Mt. Zoar Street and South Main Street for a report of shots being fired.

A 35-year-old man was found at the scene with a gunshot wound to his leg.

Police say he was taken to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre with a non-life threatening wound.

Shell cases were found at the scene and police continue to investigate the shooting.
