On Wednesday afternoon, Excellus BlueCross BlueShield awarded four local nonprofits its 4th quarter Community Health Award Funding.
In total, Excellus awarded $15,700 to help fund health and wellness programs in the company’s six-county region here in the Southern Tier.
Eldridge Park, Economic Opportunity Program, The First Tee Corning, and Vestal Clayton Avenue Elementary School all received grant money after a competitive application process.
“The company’s Community Health awards demonstrate a corporate commitment to supporting local organizations that share our mission as a nonprofit health plan,” said Jessica Renner, regional president.
Renner said they hand out these awards two times a year.
