The Canisteo Police Club’s annual Gun Raffle Cash Bash still has about 100 tickets available for sale.
The event will be held on Saturday, Feb. 9 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Canisteo American Legion.
Tickets are $25 dollars per person and include food and raffle prizes. From every ticket sold, $5 will be donated to the Nick Clark Scholarship Fund.
Kyle Amidon, Chief of the Canisteo Village Police Department, said Trooper Clark’s family supports the event despite the controversy of raffling off the item that took Trooper Clark’s life early July.
“Guns are just another object, it’s not the object that does it, it’s the person behind the actual gun,” Chief Amidon said. “I don’t feel that this has anything relative to do anything with Trooper Nick Clark’s incident.”
The annual raffle event is geared towards raising money to support kids in the community and even provide a scholarship for a graduating senior going into law enforcement.
About 150 tickets are still left for sale.
Tickets can be purchased at the Canisteo Police Department or mail a check to: Canisteo Police Club located at PO BOX 114 in Canisteo, New York 14823.
