Hammock Stand Recall

x (Do not use) Local News - -

A fall hazard has prompted the recall of nearly 14,000 hammock stands sold at Bed Bath & Beyond stores.

The stands were sold under the Bed Bath & Beyond ‘destination summer’ private label.

The hooks that attach a hammock to the hammock stand can bend or break.

There have been 13 reports of such incidents, resulting in consumers falling to the ground and sustaining injuries.

Bed Bath & Beyond stores nationwide and the company’s website sold the hammock stands from March 2014 through July 2015 for about $100 dollars.

Consumers should stop using the product and contact the distributor, Pride Family Brands, for a free set of heavier replacement hooks.

About 13,900 of the hammock stands are being recalled in the US.

An additional 55 were sold in Canada.

Pride Family Brands can be reached toll-free at 855-612-9800 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. ET Monday through Friday or online at www.bedbathandbeyond.com and click on “Safety & Recalls” at the bottom of the page.
