The Corning City Court signed an order on Jan. 2, dismissing all misdemeanor charges against Christie Speciale, including the “Hate Crime”.
Christie Speciale was charged in September for disorderly conduct after she protested animal abuse in Corning’s Gaffer District.
Susan Chana Lask, the counsel to Speciale, released the following statement:
“My client was simply protesting animal abuse which does not constitute a Hate Crime. Although justice has been served, Ms. Speciale suffered immensely from DA Baker’s false charges, and I will continue vindicating her in a civil rights suit.”
The only charge remaining against Speciale is the initial disorderly conduct charge, which is not a crime but a violation claiming there was a public inconvenience.
