Elmira Police are investigating a robbery that happened near Ann’s Pancakes.
On Sunday, Dec. 17 at 9:46 p.m. Elmira Police responded to the area of West Gridley Lane for a report of a robbery.
An Officer did interview the individual who had been robbed. The victim advised he was following a trail from behind the On The Way store to West Gridley Lane.
The victim stated as he approached the rear steps of Ann’s Pancakes he saw two youths sitting on the steps and one of the youths asked him for money.
He was then approached by another youth who displayed what appeared to be a handgun. This individual demanded his money.
The juvenile with the handgun was described as wearing a black ski mask and dark blue zip up sweatshirt.
The victim then observed two more youths in the area. After throwing change at the youths, he was struck in the head by something as he was leaving the area.
The investigation into this matter continues. While investigating this incident, credible information was developed of a similar incident taking place in the same general area on Saturday night, Jan. 16.
Sargent Solt of the Elmira Police Department says there have been at least two other reported incidents in this same area.
Solt says, “During the investigation on this matter we may have identified another person that may have had something similar happen on Saturday evening in that general area and a couple months ago there was another incident in that area, very similar.”
