Since January, Lando’s Hotel and Lounge halted evening hours of the night club due to health issues with the co-owner.
Don Lando co-owns the building and business with his brother Joe Lando and has been slowly recovering from colon surgery.
“My recovery is taking a long time, it kind of took the wind out of my sails,” Don said. “So the nights are closed now.”
Established in the 1960s, the business went through the motions of some of the most iconic decades in music.
“We always kept up with the times, we went from rock ‘n’ roll bands, when we first bought it, to disco and then DJs,” Lando said.
But for the past few months, the venue had to call off hosting shows like Drake Bell from the Nickelodeon television show “Drake and Josh”.
Co-owner Joe Lando manages daytime lounge hours. He declined to comment but he said despite the pause in evening hours, they’re still open, as they always have been, Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The building is currently up for lease under Tina Lando Real Estate and Associates as plans for the future of Lando’s Hotel and Lounge is underway.
The Lando brothers, however, hope to reopen the night club’s evening hours as soon as Don fully recovers.
