“Like a graveyard theme. Tomb stones, zombies. That’s what we wanna do,” Corning resident Craig Ronguilo said.
Halloween decorations are all about scary and that’s never going away, but there are some different trends for costumes this year.
Halloweens is on a weekend this year, so many of you are going out with your friends. Group costumes are more popular than ever. For example, if you’re a strawberry, your friend could be a pear and together you could be a fruit salad.
“People like to go as groups and that’s why, I think, the minions are popular, Fruit of the Loom, The Incredibles are all group costumes,” Owner of Halloween Warehouse, RC Ike said.
Group costumes like Star Wars characters; something so no one’s left out. While those ideas are timeless, others are not.
“A lot of the younger people, especially the younger females, in years past want to dress sexy. And I think sexy has gone away. It’s gone more into the fun, customized, create-your- own, do- it- yourself type of ideas,” Ike said.
For children, the newest costume is Cinderella from the movie released just a short time ago.
“We have Elsa and Anna again. They had a little cameo short in their last movie. Then Cinderella has come out already, as well,” Ike said.
When in doubt, one things for sure, scary will never go out of style.
“This year, I want to be Michael Myers. I want to have the mask, the whole suit, the boots and everything. That’s what I want to do,” Ronguilo said.
