2019 is turning out to be a pretty good year for one lucky New York resident.
A single ticket matched the winning numbers drawn in the Mega Millions drawing on New Years Day.
The winner has not yet been identified, but it has been confirmed that the winning ticket was sold in Long Island.
One ticket in Pennsylvania was sold that matched five numbers and also had the Megaplier, which is worth $4 million.
Tuesday’s drawing was the eighth largest jackpot in Mega Millions history. The last time the jackpot had been won was in October 2018, when a single-ticket holder won the record-breaking $1.6 billion prize.
