Elmira Police are investigating an overnight robbery at a Sunoco in the city. An 18 News employee was inside the store at the time of the incident.
The robbery happened right before 1 a.m. Monday morning at the Sunoco gas station at the corner of North Main and West Second Streets.
Our employee said he was in the back of the store when he heard someone say, “Please don’t do this!”. He then turned to see a man rifling through the cash register, but he did not see a weapon.
Elmira Police did confirm to us that the suspect did get away with some cash.
