In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, 7-Eleven on West Gray St. in Elmira is showing their support.
7-Eleven will be celebrating Pink Friday on Oct. 7. Raffles, pink drinks, and coffee will be available and all the proceeds will go to support Susan G. Komen of the Twin Tiers. Students from Hendy Elementary in Elmira showed their support today by painting the store pink.
“They are very excited to be here,” owner of 7-Eleven Anuja Aggarwal said. “This is the first time they have ever had somebody invite them to come in and paint on their windows. In fact, a couple of them even asked their mothers ‘can we really paint the windows’. Yes.”
A certified breast health RN will also be available from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. and then again from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday for any questions you may have regarding breast cancer.
