Rochester-based company builds Super Bowl bridge

Local News

A Rochester based company has a unique connection to this year’s Super Bowl.

Clark Patterson Lee is an architecture, engineering and planning firm. CPL was the lead transportation engineer and designer on the newly opened pedestrian bridge which connects Mercedes Benz Stadium – the home of Super Bowl LIII, to Alanta’s MARTA train station. Thousands of people will cross the bridge to see the Patriots and Rams this coming Sunday.

“Mercedes stadium was a very new look and a kind of geo-dome concept so we’ve got similar materials to compliment it,” Clark Patterson Lee CEO Todd Liebert said. “They wanted to make sure it was well lit, that it was attractive, and that it provided the safety for pedestrians going over the highway.”

Liebert added, “We’re very proud of it. It’s kind of fun. We wish the Bills were in it so we could all enjoy it!”

Rochester-based engineers worked with CPL’s Atlanta office to complete the project, which features all LED lighting.
