Steuben Youth Bureau to hold third annual Color Walk

The third annual “Steuben County Color Walk…to prevent child abuse” will be held June 16 in Pulteney Square in Bath.

The family-friendly event is set to begin at 9 a.m., followed by a mile-long course that will begin at 10:15 a.m. The cost of registration is $3.

The event is intended to be a very visible reminder to county residents that they can all do something to prevent child abuse. Volunteers will be located around the course where they will toss non-toxic colored paint powder at participants.

Organizers recommend participants wear light-colored clothes for the most color effect. Eye and nose protection is recommended for walkers and will be available for $1. T-shirts will also be available for $5.

The event is sponsored by the Youth Bureau, Prevent Child Abuse Steuben Task Force, Nelson Service Center, Keuka Insurance Group, Inc., and the Corning Police Benevolent Association.
