Someone once said, “be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle”. Most battles are fought behind even the prettiest of closed doors.
She cooks and washes dishes and welcomes all who come into her home with a warm smile and hug as any good host would. A loving wife. A caring sister and friend.
Today she is strong, but for years she was a victim of child abuse.
Mary’s life changed when her mother married her setpfather. Their socioeconomic standing and newfound clothing and furniture wasn’t the only thing that changed. What happened when her mother said “I Do” flipped her whole life upside down.
Always walking on eggshells because they never knew what was going to set her stpfather off, Mary remembers the abuse like it was yesterday.
Today mary is a retired social worker that is dedicated to protecting neglected, abandoned or abused children. She is also the author of a book entitled, “Tell Them For Me”.
