Three people from Elmira have all been arrested with welfare fraud.

Karla Brenzo was arrested on Saturday, Dec. 5 on active Elmira City Court warrant for Welfare Fraud in the fourth degree, Grand Larceny in the fourth degree and Offering a False Instrument for Filing in the first degree.

An investigation was conducted by the Department of Social Services, Special Investigation Unit and the Elmira Police Dept. The investigation found that Karla Brenzo did file fraudulent paperwork with the Department of Social Services and received $1,301.00 in Public Assistance Benefits she was not entitled to receive.

Shannon Sample was arrested on Wednesday, Dec. 2 on active Elmira City Court warrant for  Offering a False Instrument for Filing in the first degree.

An investigation was conducted by the Department of Social Services, Special Investigation Unit and the Elmira Police Department. The investigation found Shannon Sample did file fraudulent paperwork with the Department of Social Services.  

Kavon Wilson was also arrested on Wednesday, Dec. 2 on active Elmira City Court warrant for Welfare Fraud in the fourth Degree, Grand Larceny in the fourth degree and Offering a False Instrument for Filing in the first degree.

An investigation was conducted by the Department of Social Services, Special Investigation Unit and the Elmira Police Dept. The investigation found that Kavon Wilson did file fraudulent paperwork with the Department of Social Services and received $1,828.00 in Public Assistance Benefits he was not entitled to receive.
