Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office investigating an armed bank robbery

The Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a suspect who reportedly robbed the Cornell Federal Credit Union in Lansing at gunpoint.

Investigators responded to the credit union on Sheraton Drive around 4:32 p.m.

Witnesses and employees told the investigators that a suspect armed with a handgun entered the bank and demanded money before running away in a northeasterly direction.

They described the suspect as a black male who is 6 feet tall. 

During the robbery, he was wearing a black face mask, khaki or tan pants, and dark shoes.
