Two former inmates of the Steuben County Jail were arrested for allegedly possessing suboxone while incarcerated.

Randy W. Brown, 61, of Tioga, Pennsylvania was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree and arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Court and remanded to the Steuben County Jail

The Sheriff’s Office alleges that while being booked into the Steuben County Jail for an unassociated charge, Brown illegally possessed a quantity of suspected suboxone

Brown was previously arrested in October 2015 for allegedly unlawful fleeing from a police officer, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, driving with a revoked license and reckless endangerment, and in May 2018 for an alleged criminal sale of a controlled substance.

Anthony J. Demember, 24, of Elmira, New York allegedly possessed and introduced suspected suboxone, a dangerous substance, into the Steuben County Jail while booked for an unassociated charge.

Demember was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree, and Promoting Prison Contraband in the First Degree, a class D Felony.

Demember was arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Court and remanded to the Steuben County Jail.
