Two University of Rochester students were abducted this weekend, and rescued by a SWAT team.
Ani Okeke Ewo and Nicholas Kollias were last seen near the University of Rochester campus early Saturday morning. On Sunday, a statewide alert was issued in connection with their disappearance. Several hours later, police announced the two students had been rescued. Police found Ewo and Kollias at a home on Harvest Street in Rochester. They were rescued by a SWAT team around 9:20pm, and four people were arrested.
Police say while the two students were held against their will, one of them was shot in the leg. The injury is not life-threatening. The other student had also been injured, but not severely. University of Rochester President Joel Seligman visited them in the hospital Sunday night.
The four suspects are expected to face charges ranging from kidnapping to assault.
Police say it appears Ewo and Kollias were targeted by the suspects, but they did not provide details.
