UPDATE: Two men arrested in South Carolina homicide had Twin Tiers connection

UPDATE 4/7/ 2019 3:20 PM:

Two men, both previous residents of Steuben County, are now in custody in connection with the deaths of two women found buried on a property in Spartanburg County.

39-year-old Jonathan Galligan, also known as “Stretch,” and 41-year-old Christian Daniel Hurlburt have both been arrested and charged with Murder and Accessory After the Fact of a Felony.

Hurlburt is also charged with Unlawful Possession of a Pistol by a Convicted Felon.

According to official reports, Galligan is a former resident of Bath, New York and Hurlburt is a level three registered sex offender (according to the New York State Sex Offender Registry) who use to reside in Prattsburgh, N.Y.

Sheriffs deputies in Spartanburg, South Carolina now have a man in custody who they say is responsible for a double-murder.

Turns out, he’s from Bath.

He is 39-year-old Jonathan Galligan. Bath Police Chief Chad Mullen confirming to 18 News that Galligan was from the Bath area. He was arrested back in 2003 and faced a charge for sodomy.

Now, the sheriff’s office Spartanburg said another man they arrested told them Galligan killed two women back in December and buried their bodies behind a house. Galligan was arrested on Saturday after a caller spotted him at a convenience store.

The sheriff’s office says it will continue their investigation, but don’t believe there are other victims.
