Two Corning men are facing drug charges, after police in West Elmira said they were found with heroin during a traffic stop early Friday morning.

The incident happened at 1:53 a.m. on W. Church Street at Country Club Drive in West Elmira. The driver of the vehicle, 32 year-old, Charles Wheeler and his passenger, 28 year-old, Cameren Crandall were pulled over after multiple traffic violations, according to West Elmira Police.

Police said they found a quantity of heroin and several hypodermic needles. Crandall and Wheeler were charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument. Wheeler is also facing other charges connected to the alleged traffic violations, according to a post on the West Elmira Police Department’s Facebook page.

Both men are set to appear in the Town of Elmira Court on June 27, according to West Elmira Police.
