Family members are grieving the loss of loved ones following yesterday’s two car, triple fatal crash in Burlington Township.
In one car–Phillip Frisbie and Chey Wood of Towanda. Also in their car, a young boy. In the other car–Cliff and Sarah Heasley also of Towanda, and another young boy.
“It’s a pain I’m swallowing deeply,” Cliff Heasley’s Cousin, Travis Walker said.
According to State Police, the vehicle driven by Phillip Frisbie crossed into the opposite lane about here on the Burlington Turnpike striking the Heasley’s vehicle head on.
Cliff and Sarah Heasley were killed, their young passenger survived with injuries. Frisbie and Wood were also injured, the young boy in their car died.
“It was heartbreaking you know we got more details as to what happened and it’s just absolutely terrible,” Walker said.
Cliff Heasley’s cousin shares his memory of the deceased couple.
“I know she was a loving mother she definitely took care of the kids and Cliff was a jokester just like his dad,” Walker said.
The Heasley’s leave behind 5 children forced to grow up without a mother or father.
“It’s just so sad, those kids you know what are they going to do and then even for the other gentleman he lost a son it’s a pain but they’re never going to get over,” Nicole Decker, a passerby said.
Decker drove past the scene of the accident on the way to her father’s house just up the road. She thinks speed could have played a part in the crash.
“It had to of been an issue there’s no other way for a car to just catch on fire like that and the impact in damage of both do you have vehicles definitely,” Decker said.
Decker says people often exceed the speed limit in the area of the crash and is asking for help from the police, so that tragedies like this one won’t happen again.
“I feel that this road should be patrolled a little bit more than what it is as you’re seeing just sitting here cars were going way over 40. It’s a shame for both families that they have to go through the pain and suffering that they do,” Decker said.
Members I spoke to today of the Heasley family say they would like to thank everyone for their support during this tough time as they grieve the loss of Cliff and Sarah.
Officials say the investigation into the crash is ongoing, and that the condition of the injured parties is unknown.
