The Cuomo administration says $30 million in state funding is available for projects designed to improve New York’s electric grid.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Tuesday that project proposals will be evaluated on how they improve the grid, reduce energy costs and support the state’s clean energy goals under his Green New Deal.
The Democrat’s plans for combatting climate change include reaching 70% renewable electricity across the state by 2030 and achieving a carbon-free power grid a decade later.
The grid improvement initiative is being administered by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority.
