Actor Kevin Spacey, accused of sexual conduct involving a teenage boy, is now apologizing for an encounter he says he doesn’t remember.
Actor Anthony Rapp alleges a drunken Spacey climbed on top of him in a bed, after a 1986 party at Spacey’s apartment, according to an interview Rapp did with “Buzzfeed”.
Rapp was 14 at the time of the alleged encounter. Spacey was 26.
The two were on Broadway, in separate plays.
Spacey, via Twitter, says he’s “horrified” to hear Rapp’s story, and doesn’t remember the encounter.
Going on to say quote “If did behave as he describes, I owe him the sincerest apology for what would have been deeply inappropriate drunken behavior…”
Spacey went on to say he has had relationships with both men and women, and is now living openly as a gay man.
Less than a day after these allegations of sexual abuse emerged, Netflix has announced that the tv series “House of Cards” will end after its upcoming sixth season.
Production on the White House drama resumed several weeks ago in Baltimore.
Today, executives from Netflix and the show’s producer, Media Rights Capital, were on set to make sure actors and crew “continue to feel safe and supported”.
The two companies issued a statement saying they are “deeply troubled” by the allegations against spacey, who was not scheduled to be on set today.
