Boston’s subway puts Southern Tier on track for more jobs

CAF-USA in Elmira says its going to hire another 100-plus people because of a new contract it landed.

A $118 million is for 24 light-rail vehicles for the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authoritiy’s Boston Green Line.

The jobs vary from supervisors to quality inspectors.

Once Boston’s subway cars are done, CAF-USA will start producing cars for Maryland’s Purple Line, later this year.
