March 6-12 is ‘No More’ week around the nation. ‘No More’ week is a time to discuss and shed light on the tough subject that is domestic violence and sexual assault.

Catholic Charities of Chemung and Schuyler Counties is holding events all week throughout the area to help others learn and talk about the subject, all with the goal of being able to end domestic violence and sexual assault.

“It allows people to come out and make their statement and to initiate the conversation for the ending of domestic violence and sexual assault,” says Bethany Worrey, the Victims Services and Housing Supervisor for Catholic Charities.

“So far, we’ve actually found some victims that have slipped through the cracks and now know that our resources are available.”

If you missed today’s event at the Samaritan Center in Elmira, there’s still time to make a statement. Catholic Charities is holding events like today’s at the Watkins Glen Walmart from 12-4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 9. Thursday, March 10, an event is being held from 4-8 p.m. in the community connection room at the Arnot Mall. The final event is Friday, March 11 from 12-4 p.m. at Schuyler Outreach.
