Corning Community College held a panel discussion on Thursday on what it calls “The F Word.”
The F word being ‘feminism.’
The panel featured faculty, students, and community members who took part in dialogue to reflect on the past and present status of women in society.
The full title is “The F Word: A Panel Discussion on Feminism.”
One of the brains behind the event, a student, says she wants to educate the public on what it means to be a feminist.
“I think this is the best time because I feel like a lot of people are intimated by a lot of the movements going on, especially men,” student Grace Truth said. “They see it as, I’ve said before, man-hating, and it’s not that. We just want equality and we just want to be heard and given equal rights.”
Truth adding they are not trying to bring anyone down nor say that women are better than anyone else.
