Chemung County District Attorney Weeden Wetmore has been awarded the Prosecutor of the Year Award from the New York Prosecutors Training Institute (NYPTI) at the New York District Attorneys’ annual Summer Conference, held in Lake Placid.
Wetmore was nominated mainly due to his work his in the Kelley Stage Clayton murder trial. Wetmore was nominated by Ontario County DA Michael Tantillo and Schuyler County DA Joe Fazzary.
Wetmore tells 18 News: “I am very honored and humbled to accept this award, inasmuch as it is recognition from my fellow district attorneys and peers around New York state. I’d like to thank Michael Tantillo and Joe Fazzary. I especially want to thank ADA Susan Rider-Ulacco for her hard work and assistance throughout the Clayton Trial which brought out this recognition. Without her assistance, this wouldn’t have been possible.”
