The Chemung County Health Department, along with the Chemung County SPCA, is sponsoring a free rabies clinic on August 5 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
The clinic will be at the Chemung Town Hall, located at 48 Rotary Road Extension in Chemung.
All dogs must be on a leash and all cats and ferrets must be securely confined. Animals must be at least three months old and be accompanied by an adult.
Initial vaccinations are effective for one year, and animals must be revaccinated after one year. Owners are asked to bring proof of vaccination to the clinic to receive a rabies certificate that is good for three years.
Ferrets must be vaccinated annually.
