Chemung County to participate in statewide STOP-DWI Labor Day Holiday Crackdown Enforcement Effort

ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM) – Chemung County Acting Sheriff William A. Schrom, announces that Chemung County police agencies will participate in a special enforcement effort to crackdown on impaired driving.

The statewide STOP-DWI Crackdown effort starts today, August 14 and will continue until September 2, 2019. New York State Police, County Sheriffs and municipal law enforcement agencies will collaborate across the state and will be out in force in this coordinated effort to reduce the number of alcohol related injuries and deaths.

The Chemung County Sheriff reminds residents to celebrate responsibly and make sure they have a safe ride home.
