MIDDLEBURY CENTER, Pa. (WETM) – Individual and four-person teams can register for the Mill’s Cove 2nd annual Clays for Kids to benefit Mill Cove and the Tioga County Children’s Advocacy Center, an Asa’s Place program.
Registrants can apply for the Oct. 5 event by Sept. 20 online and note their shirt size and which type of ammunition is needed (12 or 20 gauge).
The entry fee for individuals participating in Clays for Kids is $130 per person and for a team of four is $500. To attend the pork barbecue lunch only, pay $20 per person.
The event begins on Saturday, Oct. 5 from 8:00 a.m. and goes until 2:00 p.m. at Thunder Ridge Sporting Clays at 619 Leon Brown Road in Middlebury Center, PA 16935.
Those who register online or by mail by this Friday will shoot in the marksman competition and receive four boxes of 12- or 20-gauge ammunition per shooter, 100 target rounds per shooter, golf cart use, a pork barbecue lunch and an event T-shirt in the size ordered.
Those who register online between Sept. 21 and Thursday, Oct. 3 or in person at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5, the day the event is being held, will participate in the shoot and receive the same things with the exception of an event T-shirt and possibly ammunition.
Registrants are responsible for bringing their own guns and eye and ear protection.
On Saturday, Oct. 5, registration and check-in will be at 8 a.m. The shoot will start at 9 a.m. At noon will be the pork barbecue lunch and presentations by the beneficiaries about Mill Cove and the Tioga County Children’s Advocacy Center, an Asa’s Place program.
At 1 p.m., a raffle will be held and awards presented to the top male, female and team shooters. Clays for Kids will end around 2 p.m.

Make checks payable to Mill Cove, Inc. and mail with the registration information to 54 S Main St., Mansfield, PA 16933 so it arrives before Sept. 20.
Proceeds will benefit the outdoor Mill Cove Environmental Education Center where children learn about nature up close and personal, and the Tioga County Children’s Advocacy Center, an Asa’s Place program, which will serve child abuse victims ages four to 18 at 16 Water Street in Wellsboro. The facility is expected to open in late 2019 or early 2020.
