COHOCTON, N.Y. (WETM) – New York State Police were called to investigate a domestic dispute in the Town of Cohocton on Wednesday, Sept. 11.
State Police say Michael Wood, 40, was outside of his home intoxicated claiming he was attacked by his wife and mother-in-law.
Wood’s wife told State Police that she’d been drinking with her husband outside for his birthday, when he got irritated with her and started yelling at her. Wood then started dragging her around the yard by her hair and started kicking her.
State Police say Wood then attempted to keep the wife from making a phone call to 911.
Wood’s wife told Policed that her mother tried to intervene but Wood, struck the mother-in-law on the back. Both victims were able to get in the house and lock Wood out while they called 911.
Wood was advised by State Police that he was being placed under arrest, at which time he stated “No I’m not” and then resisted arrest.
Wood was arrested for Assault 3rd, Criminal Contempt, Criminal Mischief, Harassment and resisting arrest and was sent to the Steuben County Jail to wait for arraignment.
