Dr. Maranatha Lougheed, an OB/GYN at the Guthrie Corning Campus, passed away last week from an intracranial hemorrhage.
This happened two days after she delivered her third child.
Maran, as she was well known to family and friends, cared for thousands of patients, and was well-respected and admired by her many colleagues. She dedicated her life to bringing babies into the world, saving the lives of young mothers and offering comfort and healthcare support to women of all ages.
Dr. Lougheed died at the young age of 39 years old and is survived by 3 young children of her own. She will be missed by many throughout the Twin Tiers.
A celebration of her life will be hosted by her family on Sunday, July 29th at the Corning Radisson Hotel from 9:00a.m. to 11:00a.m. All are invited to join in the sharing of stories and memories of Maran. In lieu of flowers, the family has kindly requested that donations be made to support Maran and Cory’s sons through https://www.gofundme.com/lougheed, or alternatively at any Chemung Canal Trust Company under Kilpatrick-Lougheed Children’s Fund.
