The following is a news release from the Corning Police Department.
On Thursday, September 13, 2018 at approximately 10:42 pm uniformed members of the Corning Police Department responded to a residence on E Fourth Street, in the City of Corning, for the reported burglary in progress. Upon investigating the scene, Officers located two people hiding in the attic of the residence. The investigation also revealed that both occupants had license and privilege to be in the E Fourth Street residence. While conducting the search of the residence, Officers found numerous items used in the manufacture of methamphetamine. As a result of the items located within the residence, both occupants were arrested by Corning Police.
Corning Police were assisted at the scene by the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office and the New York State Police.
Julie B. Sweeney, 43 years old – residing at 15 Maple St Corning, NY
She was charged with:
- Unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine 3rd degree – D felony
- Criminal possession of methamphetamine manufacturing material 2nd degree – A misdemeanor
Brodie L. Pierson, 21 years old – residing at 216 E Fourth St. Corning NY
He was charged with:
1) Unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine 3rd degree – D felony
2) Criminal possession of methamphetamine manufacturing material 2nd degree – A misdemeanor
Both Ms Sweeney and Mr Pierson were held overnight in the City’s Jail and arraigned this morning in Corning City Court. Both subjects were sent to the Steuben County Jail on $20,000 cash bail. They will re-appear in City Court Tuesday morning.
