Dr. Coleman to host “best political pundit night” on Thursday

Local News

Dr. Stephen Coleman is set to host his 15th Annual Political Pundit Night on Thursday, June 6 at the Elmira Heights Theater.

Doors open at 6 p.m., with live entertainment provided by internationally recognized musicians, Tony and Dominic Sgro. The debate and discussion starts at 7 p.m. The topic of this week’s debate is, “Donald Trump – Four More Years?”

“My brother and I were in the marine band when we were in the Marine Corp., back in the 50s,” said Tony Sgro. He and his brother will be playing patriotic songs, such as “Stars and Stripes Forever.” The patriotic theme is appropriate for the day of the event, as it coincides with the 75th anniversary of D-Day.

Dr. Coleman is calling this event an “All-Star Political Pundit Night,” because of the extensive line-up of commentators featuring a first-time appearance by Senator Tom O’mara, Georgia Verdier from the Elmira-Corning NAACP, former Chemung County Executive Tom Santulli, Jerome Emanuel, Nick Weinstein, Dora Leland, the Honorable Shawn Hogan, Attorney Tom Reilly.

“This is going to be the best political pundit night,” Dr. Coleman said. “There’s no doubt about it.”

It’s free and open to the public.
