Elmira City Council to vote on appointee chosen to fill vacant seat

Local News

The Elmira City Council will vote on Tuesday over whether to approve an appointment to represent the city’s First District and carry out the remaining term.

The appointee, Thomas Krebs, was appointed to replace former Councilman Jim Waters.

If approved, Krebs would carry out the remaining term after Waters resigned earlier in May.

Waters said he resigned over personal matters. The council was required to find a replacement within 30 days after his resignation.

The Elmira City Council meets on Tuesday, May 28 at 5:30 p.m.
