Elmira Man Facing Felony Charges for Criminal Possession of a Weapon

An Elmira man is facing felony charges for the criminal possession of a weapon. 

24-year-old Scott B. Whitecotton was arrested on an active warrant Monday when police performed a field interview on E Second St. and Clemens Center Parkway at approximately 3:17 p.m.

During the investigation, officers found Whitecotton in possession of a .32 caliber handgun. 

Whitecotton is charged with criminal possession of a wepon in the 2nd degree, which is a class C felony.
